Based right in the heart of Tignes Val Claret (alt. 2100m), X Games Europe will host 8 events in  total. The planets elite will be flying through the air on ski's, snowboards, and snowmobiles, and all with jaw-dropping skill and showmanship. Britain's Jenny Jones, in the Womens Slopestyle will be one name to watch, and as it's just after the Winter Olympics in Vancouver expect some fit and able sportsmen and women to be there .

So what does it mean if you're thinking of taking a holiday in Tignes or Val d'Isere around that time? For a starters, visitors will have to be a bit more prepared. Accommodation will book up faster of course , and the resort will be busier. But X Games are no amateurs – this event attracts thousands every year in the U.S, and the organisers have been planning the Tignes version since July '09.

Spectators will the greeted in a huge welcome area in Tignes Val Claret overlooked by the famous X Games Towers, and there'll be plenty of facilities such as toilets and food vans to keep everyone happy. As for where you can and can't go; for those 3 days (and a bit either side) getting around the slopes in Val Claret may be a little tricky. The Tignes half pipe will close in mid February to be built up and turned in to the Superpipe, measuring 220m long and up to 6m high. The Slopestyle jumps will sit on the “Double M” piste that runs alongside the Lanches chairlift. (link to piste map?) Other than that, there's still a share of 300km of piste including 6 slalom courses, 1 mogul field and 2 snowparks to keep visitors busy.
